We have an excellent opportunity for a 2nd Line IT Support Technician to join this growing and reputable team of technicians to provide IT support to school-based clients based in and around Milton Keynes. This role is mainly on assigned client sites, with occasional work in the Milton Keynes office or from home, so you must live within commuting distance to Milton Keynes.

About the role
As a 2nd Line IT Support Technician, you will have the opportunity to work with, train, and develop your skills across various systems including Windows, Mac, iOS, Windows Server, and more—covering a range of devices such as PCs, Macs, iPads, Chromebooks, and Android devices. There are opportunities to learn and grow your skills further.
This full-time role offers a high degree of autonomy. The right candidate will manage their workload, liaise daily with clients to resolve computer-related issues, and be supported by fellow technicians. You will escalate issues when necessary, maintaining an approachable and friendly demeanor. An enhanced DBS check will be conducted prior to starting, and your responsibilities will include:
* Providing friendly service to customers and clients
* Working on client sites with remote support from the IT team
* Serving as the IT technical support for your assigned clients
* Resolving, advising, and assisting clients with IT issues
* Carrying out tasks as directed by your line manager
* Collaborating with existing technicians to deepen your understanding of the role
* Progressing projects and assisting with migrations at client sites
* Occasionally visiting other client sites
* Performing regular maintenance and checks at client sites remotely or in person
* Managing the company's ongoing workload
* Using remote access software to resolve issues remotely
* Providing occasional telephone support for clients
* Assisting with project work outside of term time
About you
To succeed in this role, having a car and a valid driving license is essential. You should have:
* At least 12 months of experience in a support IT environment, ideally 2nd line
Preferred Skills/Experience:
* Industry-recognized or relevant qualification
* Positive and effective relationships with clients
* Experience working in schools or educational settings
* Technical problem-solving and fault-finding skills
About the rewards
In this role, working Monday to Friday, you will earn a salary of £24,000 to £31,000 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include:
