Are you passionate about engineering and eager to learn hands-on mechanical skills? We're looking for a motivated
Engineering Apprentice
to join our team and begin an exciting journey toward becoming a skilled Maintenance Engineer.
About The Role
As an Engineering Apprentice, you'll undertake a structured training programme combining academic study with practical, on-the-job experience. Under the guidance of an experienced Mentor, you'll gain the skills and knowledge needed to support our engineering department and grow into a future leader in maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out basic repairs and maintenance on mechanical equipment such as pumps, valves, and pipes
* Perform preventative maintenance tasks
* Complete checklists and maintenance records
* Learn and assist with more complex mechanical tasks
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment
* Use hand and power tools (e.g., wrenches, drills, grinders) and test equipment
* Understand engineering science and technology principles
* Prioritise safety and identify workplace hazards
* Use basic computer software (Word, Excel)
* Read and interpret engineering and technical drawings
Essential
What We're Looking For
* GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or above) or A Levels
* Basic computer literacy )
* Interest in manufacturing and maintenance
Desirable
* Exposure to mechanical or engineering environments
Your Apprenticeship Journey
* Year 1: 2 days per week at Cambridge Regional College, 3 days per week on-site in Huntingdon
* Years 2 & 3: 1 day per week at college, 4 days per week on-site
