Role: Setting Out / Section Engineer (Heavy Civils)
Contract Duration: 6 Months Initial (Extension likely based on project milestones)
Project: Power Plant Construction – Middlesbrough
Rate: Inside IR35 - Umbrella
The Mission
We are looking for a precision-driven Section Engineer and a high-accuracy Setting Out Engineer to join a flagship power plant project. We need engineers who understand the complexity of heavy industrial foundations, massive reinforced concrete (RC) structures, and the tight tolerances of structural steelwork.
Key Responsibilities
* Precision Setting Out: Use Leica/Trimble total stations and GPS to provide millimetre-accurate points for heavy RC foundations and steel bolt sets.
* Technical Oversight: (Section Level) Manage sub-contractors, oversee quality control (QA), and ensure work aligns with the Master Installation Plan.
* Heavy Civils Execution: Lead/Support the delivery of deep drainage, massive concrete pours, and complex structural frames.
* Compliance & Safety: Maintain impeccable RFI logs and RAMS. On a power plant site, \"safety first\" isn't a slogan; it's the permit to work.
* As-Builts: Produce accurate as-built surveys and quality handover packs.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in Heavy Civils. If you haven't worked on RC frames or major industrial steelwork, this won't be the right fit.
* Proficient with EDM/Total Stations (TS16/TS60) and AutoCAD for data extraction
Qualifications:
* BEng/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
* CSCS Card (Gold/White/Black) is mandatory.
* SMSTS or SSSTS (Preferred for Section Engineer level)
