What you will be doing
as the Meter Data Quality Analyst: This is a varied and impactful role within the Smart Metering Operations Centre. Your work will ensure Thames Water gains maximum value from its smart metering investment by minimising errors and delivering accurate, reliable reporting.
As our Metering Data Quality Analyst, you will be working across two main areas, ensuring meter data integrity across multiple business units and IT systems.
(I) This involves monitoring data quality, preventing errors, and resolving existing issues across our IT systems to ensure information is consistent, accurate, and actionable.
(II) Validating the asset health of our meter stock, from purchase to disposal
This includes modelling asset life, supporting meter accuracy studies, contributing to the Returns Material Authorisation (RMA) process, and developing robust asset standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the reporting activities on key metering parameters.
2. Improving existing reporting functionality to provide better access for users and ensure business continuity.
3. Monitoring why meters and equipment fail as part of our Returns Materials Analysis (RMA) process.
4. Help analyse, create and present data insight to support related meter under-registration and leakage analysis.
5. Providing knowledge, help, feedback and training to other teams on meter assets.

7. Understanding of databases, interfaces, and business systems.
8. Ability to present and influence other teams to ensure process improvements.
9. Organisational skills and willingness to own, document and improve business processes. (move higher up the list)
10. Capacity to become a subject matter expert on water meter assets.
11. Experience in Advanced Excel, SharePoint, working knowledge of SQL, working knowledge of Power BI and Salesforce. Knowledge of meter asset technology would be beneficial but not essential.
Base Location: Hybrid - Langley Bus Park - Slough, Berks
Hours: 36 hours per week
