Job Title: Formulation Chemist
Are you passionate about chemistry and eager to make a difference? We are looking for a talented Formulation Chemist to join our innovative team! In this exciting role, you will develop cutting-edge chemical formulas for urethanes, epoxies, silicones, coatings, and more. Your expertise will ensure our products meet the highest quality standards through rigorous testing and quality control processes.
Your Responsibilities
* Craft and develop chemical formulas for urethanes, epoxies, silicones, and coatings.
* Conduct application testing and quality control tests to ensure products meet customer specifications.
* Operate advanced testing equipment, including universal testers, dispersers, viscometers, and durometers.
* Collaborate with the production team to scale up new or specific formulas.
* Assist Technical Support in resolving customer issues effectively.
* Document formulas, production processes, and quality control checks through detailed technical data sheets.
* Manage multiple projects weekly, focusing on formula development and application testing.
What You Bring to the Table
Essential Skills
* Experience in formulation chemistry, especially with urethanes, epoxies, or silicones.
* Proven ability to develop specific formulas tailored to customer applications.
* Expertise in scaling up production processes and establishing quality control parameters.
* Strong troubleshooting skills to address technical issues in manufacturing.
* Practical application testing skills to evaluate material performance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Knowledge of polyurethanes and foam technology.
* Proficiency in coatings chemistry and physical chemistry blending.
* Experience in product development.
Your Work Environment
This role is based in a dynamic chemistry lab where you'll develop formulas and utilize various instruments. You'll also engage in office work related to project administration. The position operates on the first shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30/4:30 p.m., allowing you to interact with all levels of the organization.
Compensation and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per year.
