About the Role
Business Support Officer – Adult Social Care – Permanent – Location: Plough Lane – Hours: 37 – Salary: HC05.
Closing date: Tuesday 19th May 2026. Interviews: Week commencing Monday 25th May 2026.
What will you be doing?
As a Business Support Officer you will provide excellent customer service to staff and members of the public and support a wide range of administrative duties for teams across the Community Wellbeing Directorate. A typical day includes triaging and directing incoming calls from members of the public who receive support from Adult Social Care services, calls from other organisations, and from family members; distributing confidential documentation; monitoring shared mailboxes; accurately minuting meetings held both virtually and in person; attending and coordinating budget approval and case collaboration meetings; and undertaking general administrative duties.
About you
* Customer‑focused with excellent communication and customer service skills
* Resilient and empathic, capable of engaging sensitively with emotionally challenging or distressing subject matter
* Highly organised, able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
* Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment
* Skilled in using a variety of IT systems and tools
* Accurate and detail‑oriented, especially when recording data in Excel
* Highly numerate, confident navigating financial figures and data
