We are looking for a RMN or OT to join our Older Adults Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) based in the North and West of Oxfordshire. The post is full time however there is availability of part time hours and flexible working.
We are a friendly, supportive and proactive team with a culture of high standards of care and any successful applicant will need to be committed to maintaining this. The team works closely with a wide range of internal and external partner’s including GPs, district nursing, therapy services, ambulatory care, social care and physical and mental health inpatient providers. We aim to deliver well-coordinated patient care and to share our respective skills and knowledge with one another.
Our team covers a wide geographical area bordering Northamptonshire, Warwickshire and Gloucester, so ideal for applicants who live in Oxfordshire itself, or willing to commute from neighbouring counties.
Main duties of the job
Working as part of our multi-disciplinary team you will be expected to offer assessments and interventions to our patient group of older adults with mental health needs. You will manage a caseload of patients with a variety of mental health conditions both functional and organic as well as supporting our duty and triage function.
The MDT is made up of Medical, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Psychology colleagues and we highly regard one another's professional background and contribution to the care of our patients. We view supervision as fundamental to the functioning of the team both clinically and in terms of the well being of our staff.
You will need to be organised, flexible and committed to delivering the highest possible care to our client group. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as good lT skills are essential.
Ideally you will have experience of working in older adult mental health services and understand the challenges that working with this client group brings. However, if you have transferable skills and are motivated to learn about our client group we would encourage you to apply.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
We have a multi-disciplinary team in both Banbury and Witney and hot desking space for staff covering those areas.
Core working hours are Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00. Out-of-hours support services are managed via a team rota. Staff will be expected to work on this rota which includes occasional weekend 09:00-17:00 shifts and evening shifts in the week between 17:00-20:00.

Essential criteria
12. Registered Professional Qualification (Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist)
13. Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) portfolio
Desirable criteria
14. Post graduate education specifically relating to client group (Post basic qualification in community care/ research awareness/ management)
Experience
Essential criteria
15. To have experience of working within a multidisciplinary team
16. Formal /informal teaching including supervising student placements
17. To have relevant experience in community care and have specific clinical expertise in mental health

18. Experience of supervising and managing staff

22. All new starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process, aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale
23. Candidates not currently employed by the Trust who attend an interview for non-qualified Band 1-5 posts are required to undertake numeracy and literacy assessments.
