Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior ECLO to lead the ECLO Team at Oxford Eye Hospital. This post holder will have a proven track record of working as an ECLO or in a similar field. They will be able to advocate for patients with sight loss both locally and nationally and thrive on working in a busy multi disciplinary out patients setting. The post holder will personally see the most complex patients and will develop the service to support the growing need for rehabilitative support alongside medical and surgical ophthalmology in Oxfordshire .

Main duties of the job

·To personally see the most complex patients that may have: safeguarding needs, need for frequent contact, urgent emotional or counselling support.

·To have oversight of the ECLO team on a day-to-day basis

·Toprovideanimmediatepointofcontactforpeoplediagnosedwith serious sight loss, their families, and associated professionals.

·To provide frontline support for people diagnosed with sight loss and for their families.

·To signpost individuals to appropriate Low Vision Services in the county and further a field.

·To work with the Head of Optometry and A Optometry lead to continually improve the multidisciplinary low vision service.

·To provide clinical triage support to low vision referrals.
