We have a fantastic opportunity for a full-time Ambulance Care Assistant to join our team based in Crewe.
This is a permanent, out-of-hours position requiring a 4 on, 4 off schedule. Hours are Mon to Fri 16:00-06:00, Sat 08:00-06:00, and Sun 06:00-06:00. Please only apply if you can commit to these hours.
An Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) plays a rewarding role, helping individuals in need and making a positive impact on their day, providing a sense of achievement.
Main responsibilities include:
1. Transporting elderly, sick, and vulnerable service users to and from medical appointments and healthcare facilities.
2. Carrying out duties either as part of a two-person crew or alone, requiring a full UK driving licence and good physical fitness.

Other duties include:
* Assisting with 'end of life' transport with empathy
* Building rapport with patients and relatives
* Lifting and securing patients in ambulances
* Handover of patients at treatment centers or homes
* Transferring patients between beds, chairs, or during flights
* Assisting with challenging behavior or mental health issues
* Maintaining ambulance safety, cleanliness, and tidiness
Candidate requirements:
* Commitment to patient care
* Effective communication skills, especially in emotional situations
* Calm, careful driver with no more than three penalty points
* Teamwork and collaboration skills
* Physical fitness for patient handling
* Pass an enhanced DBS check (company funded)
* Flexible shift availability
* Familiarity with local area
Training:
We invest in your development with paid training including First Aid, safeguarding, infection control, health and safety, and manual handling.
