Casual Cleaners - Ref: EE07325
Salary: G2 £12.65 per hour
We require hardworking, reliable, enthusiastic and motivated cleaners to join our casual cleaners’ pool. You will need to be able to work independently and use initiative, while being part of a team. Casual cleaners cover premises across the Walsall Borough to ensure the required standards of cleanliness and presentation are maintained within our schools and outlying buildings.
Responsibilities
* Ensure equipment is kept clean, well maintained and in safe working order following Health & Safety requirements.
* Undertake cleaning duties including mopping, polishing and vacuuming.
* Maintain a clean and presentable environment in schools, libraries, and council offices as required.
* Understand, or be willing to train in, the safe use of cleaning chemicals and machinery.

Requirements and Availability
* You do not have to be available 5 days per week; you may specify the days you are available.
* Early morning shifts (6.00 a.m. – 8.00 a.m.) or afternoons from 3.00 p.m. onwards are available for casual cleaning work in schools, libraries, and council offices.
* The casual cleaner position is non-contractual and hours are allocated on an “as and when” needed basis to cover annual leave, sick leave and deep cleaning. Hours are not guaranteed.
* If a permanent position arises, successful applicants for this post will be considered.
Language and Compliance
This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers. The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice/information in accurate spoken English. Completion of a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check may be a requirement of this post.
