The Role
A well-established UK engineering manufacturer is expanding and looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to support ongoing growth and product development.
Working within the R&D team, you will be involved in both new product design and the improvement of existing solutions, contributing to engineering projects from concept through to testing and validation.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop new products and improve existing designs
* Build and test prototypes throughout the development process
* Analyse test results and recommend next steps
* Produce and maintain bills of materials (BOMs)
* Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver project objectives
* Support R&D activity across multiple product lines
What You’ll Need
* Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, or Product Design)
* Experience in product development or design engineering
* Strong 3D CAD experience (ideally Autodesk Inventor)
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Experience with product testing and validation
* Strong organisation and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Desirable:
* R&D or innovation-focused engineering experience
