Responsibilities
* You will learn to apply engineering principles to all stages of the software development process, from requirements, through analysis and design, development, implementation, integration and verification.
* In parallel with the academic aspects of the scheme, you will be assigned to projects where you will gain the specific software engineering competence and skills applicable to the complex display and control systems designed and manufactured by BAE Systems, Electronic Systems at Rochester.
* As you progress through the scheme, your work will become more challenging with greater responsibility, with the end goal of leaving the scheme as a qualified Software Engineer.
Qualifications
* 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 9‑4/A‑C which must include Maths, English and a Science/Technical subject and 1 of the following:
o 3 A‑levels (or equivalent) at grade C or above. One subject must be Mathematics and another in Engineering or a Science/Technical subject.
o An equivalent Level 3 vocational qualification that is STEM‑related and worth at least 96 UCAS points.
* The Electronic Systems sector spans the commercial and defence electronics markets with a broad portfolio of mission‑critical electronic systems, including flight and engine controls, electronic warfare and night vision systems, surveillance and reconnaissance sensors, secure networked communications equipment, geospatial imagery intelligence products and systems, mission management, and power‑and‑energy‑management systems.
