Your new opportunity: The IT Manager will have overall responsibility for the planning and executing of business-critical projects in line with business strategy. As the IT Manager, you will be responsible for developing, overseeing, and managing the full spectrum of software, hardware, dashboards, security, and governance of our IT systems. Your primary objective will be to ensure that our IT infrastructure is robust, efficient, and tailored to meet the needs of all users, including leadership, management, operatives, and administrative personnel. You will play a pivotal role in optimising digital workflows and task management to enhance productivity and streamline operations. This will involve creation of detailed project plans, and management of project scope, risk, budget etc. Ultimately, the IT Manager will ensure that the company’s ERP solutions are implemented successfully across their locations and customer interfaces, and that the architecture of the systems are future proof. Additionally, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the IT team to deliver high-quality IT solutions and services. The IT Manager and IT team will also support the company’s business applications, running ‘mini-projects’ including change requests, enhancements, and customisations. Supervising the information technology (IT) departments, manages computer systems and software, oversees equipment purchasing and installation, and maintains computer networks, connectivity, and governance. Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning: Develop and implement an IT strategy aligned with the company's overall objectives. Collaborate with senior management to identify IT requirements and propose solutions to support business growth and efficiency. System Development & Oversight : Oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of software applications, ensuring they are user-friendly, reliable, and scalable. Implement best practices and technologies to enhance system performance and user experience. Hardware Management: Procure, maintain, and manage the company's hardware infrastructure, including servers, workstations, networking equipment, and peripherals. Ensure hardware upgrades and replacements are carried out timely and cost-effectively. Dashboard Development: Further develop, design and manage leadership dashboards and management reporting tools to provide real-time insights and data-driven decision-making capabilities to senior executives and department heads. Digital Workflows & Task Management: Streamline and optimise digital workflows to enhance productivity and collaboration across departments. Implement task management systems to efficiently track and prioritize work assignments. Security & Data Governance : Implement robust cybersecurity measures and data governance protocols to safeguard sensitive information and prevent security breaches. Regularly assess and address potential security vulnerabilities. Cyber Essentials Implementation : Lead the company's effort to achieve Cyber Essentials certification. Implement and maintain the necessary security controls to protect against common cyber threats and demonstrate the company's commitment to cybersecurity best practices. VoIP System Implementation: Oversee the further planning, installation, and maintenance of our new VoIP system to enhance internal and external communication capabilities, including voice and video calls, instant messaging, and conferencing. Communication Plan Development: Create and implement a comprehensive communication plan that ensures effective communication within the organisation, utilising the VoIP system and other communication channels. User Support & Training: Provide technical support to users across the organization and ensure they are proficient in utilizing IT systems effectively. Conduct training sessions to enhance user knowledge and adoption of IT tools. Coordination & Management of IT Team : Lead and coordinate the IT team, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and evaluating performance. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the IT team. Vendor Management: Evaluate and liaise with external IT vendors and service providers to ensure the best possible solutions are implemented and maintained. Manage vendor contracts and relationships. Budget Management: Prepare and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial constraints. IT Policies & Compliance : Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with data protection regulations, industry standards, and the Cyber Essentials framework.
