Duration: Permanent, Full Time
Roles requiring PVG Membership:
Please note that from 1 April 2023, roles requiring PVG membership will require candidates to cover the cost. This applies only to roles with a full-time salary of £30,000 or above, including teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (£30,727 per annum / £15.97 per hour).
The Council will initially pay the PVG membership fee (£18 for existing members, £59 for non-members), which will be deducted from the employee's first full month's salary.
Job purpose/about the role
To provide financial leadership, professional advice, strategic financial planning, and decision support to the Chief Officer and the Integrated Joint Board (IJB). This includes developing and implementing the IJB's financial strategy, ensuring sound governance, and meeting statutory reporting requirements through accurate financial recording and reporting.
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
* A degree in a relevant discipline.
* CCAB Qualified Accountant and current membership of a recognized chartered professional body.
* Significant post-qualification experience.
The postholder is able to demonstrate:
* Financial planning and leadership at a senior level within a large, multi-function organization.
* Strategic planning and contribution to business strategy development.
* Managing and presenting financial information for reporting, monitoring, and analysis.
* Advising, influencing, and acting confidently in a high-profile environment.
* Proactive engagement with stakeholders.
* Using financial systems to improve decision-making and business objectives.
* Establishing and delivering financial management processes.

* Managing risks in line with the IJB Risk Appetite Statement.
