* Manage Challenging Behaviors: Use your strong classroom management skills and understanding of SEMH to proactively de-escalate challenging behaviors and promote a respectful and positive school culture.

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) is essential.

* Experience in an SEMH setting or working closely with young people with complex needs and challenging behaviors.

* A flexible and proactive approach to education, with the ability to think on your feet and adapt lessons to meet immediate student needs.

* A creative outlook and the ability to design meaningful and stimulating science lessons that engage disengaged learners.

* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external professionals.

Why Work in an SEMH School?

Working in an SEMH school is not without its challenges, but the rewards are profound and deeply fulfilling.

* Making a Real Difference: You will have the opportunity to transform the educational journey for students who have often been failed by mainstream education. You'll help them rediscover a love for learning, build self-esteem, and develop crucial life skills.

* Small Class Sizes: With a high staff-to-student ratio, you have the time and resources to provide truly personalized education. You can get to know each student on an individual level and tailor your teaching to their specific needs.

* Professional Growth: SEMH education requires a unique skill set. You will develop advanced skills in behavior management, de-escalation techniques, and differentiated instruction that are highly valuable in any educational setting.

* Rewarding Connections: You will build strong, trusting relationships with students and their families. Witnessing a student's breakthrough-whether it's understanding a new scientific concept or simply engaging positively in class-is incredibly rewarding and a daily reminder of the impact you have.

* Collaborative Environment: You will work alongside a supportive and experienced team of professionals who share your passion. The collaborative nature of SEMH schools means you'll never be alone in facing challenges.
