We specialise in care for elderly people often living with physical and/or mental conditions/disabilities, including severe Dementia who have high needs and require assistance with all aspects of their physical and mental well-being.
A Senior Carer will be required to:
* Carry out all aspects of care for our service users including personal care. This includes washing, toileting, hoisting (where necessary), dressing, bathing, feeding and attending to specific care needs;
* Attend to service users' physical medical health needs such as skin tears, ulcers, assistance with mobility, oral hygiene, feeding etc;
* Attend to service users' mental health needs such as communication, activities, understanding;
* Assist with the administration of medication;
* Attend to service users' mental and physical well-being;
* Record all care on a daily basis using the Person-Centred Software;
* Liaise with other healthcare professionals including District Nurses, Social Workers, the GP, Consultants, Physiotherapists, etc;
* Liaise with service users' families and friends;
* Assist with infection control practices and procedures;
* Carry out administrative tasks;
* Assist the management staff with management tasks;
* Train and supervise carers and more junior staff;
* Assist with and complete risk assessment and service users' care plans as necessary;
* Assist the Registered Manager with all aspects of running the Home;
* Be on call during out of hours if necessary.
A Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3 (previously NVQ Level 3) or equivalent and at least one year's experience in care is desirable, but not necessary.
