Join to apply for the Assistant Therapy Practitioner role at NHS in Powys. An exciting opportunity within the Community Therapy Team based at Llandrindod Wells Hospital, Mid Powys. We are looking for a Band 4 Assistant Therapy Practitioner to join our established, friendly and experienced team.
The role will require a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual who can work autonomously and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be able to show initiative, have good communication and organisational skills, and be able to prioritise a caseload in a busy community setting. Responsibilities
The post holder will work as a member of the Therapies Team under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapy and/or Physiotherapy Team Leader to ensure an efficient and effective rehabilitation service is delivered to Powys residents. The post holder will assess, implement, treat and progress patients in accordance with agreed protocols and treatment regimes under the supervision of the qualified therapist. This includes working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency arena, alongside other therapy and community team members. Prevent hospital admission by working to the therapy goals identified by the patient and qualified therapist. Acknowledge limitations and actively seek advice as necessary to deliver a client-centred rehabilitation programme. Supervision and support of junior staff will be part of the role. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are welcome to apply.
Qualifications
Essential
* Level 4 NVQ / A-levels / BTEC in a health care associated certificate/ Diploma in Occupational Therapy Support / Physiotherapy Rehabilitation or Level 3 NVQ / A-Levels / BTEC in a health care associated certificate / Diploma in Occupational Therapy Support / Physiotherapy Rehabilitation; for internal candidates evidence of Agored Cymru
* Good understanding of theoretical concepts of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy
* Numeracy and literacy skills
Desirable
* Evidence of continuing personal development relevant to the role in health care
* Local knowledge of statutory and voluntary services
Experience
* Essential: Interpersonal and communication skills; experience in providing care and undertaking clinical observations
* Desirable: Evidence of working across statutory and voluntary organisations
Aptitude and Abilities
* Essential: Ability to work as part of a team; work independently and seek appropriate advice; ability to make decisions; ability to work under pressure; good communication skills (written and verbal); ability to use a full range of Microsoft packages
* Desirable: Ability to diffuse difficult/threatening situations
