Job description Job Purpose:
We are seeking a Technical Manager Retrofit to oversee all technical trades and subcontractors on-site within the CCS Retrofit department. You will ensure compliance with PAS2030 & PAS2035 standards by conducting control checks, mid-installation audits, and quality control inspections, maintaining the highest standards in line with CCS policy. Reporting directly to Clients and the Operations Manager, this role is integral to ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, compliant retrofit projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all technical trades and subcontractors on-site, ensuring work meets CCS and industry standards.
Assist in the planning of works with the Area Manager and Admin team to ensure proper sequencing and compliance.
Conduct quality checks on materials before installation to confirm compliance.
Perform on-site quality control inspections to uphold compliance with PAS2030 standards.
Ensure Health & Safety (H&S) standards are maintained at all times.
Communicate daily with trades and subcontractors to ensure adherence to CCS processes and protocols
Conduct staff and trade audits to support compliance targets and maintain workforce competence.
Work with Area and Operations Managers to train, upskill, and coach supervisory staff and installation teams.
Manage and control defects and quality assurance processes in collaboration with the admin team.
Improve customer service processes and maintain high customer satisfaction levels.
Provide weekly reports on activities, programme completions, and issues to the Operations Manager and clients.
Organise and enforce regular training and refresher sessions for staff to drive continuous improvement.
Support recruitment efforts by assessing and onboarding new subcontractors and staff.
Conduct site inductions to ensure all new staff and subcontractors adhere to CCS operational protocols.
Skills & Qualifications:
Demonstrable expertise in technical trades related to retrofit projects.
NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification (preferred).
Experience in fabric installation and the built environment.
Proficient in using mobile PDA technology for job updates and reporting.
Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction.
Experience Required:
Minimum of 3 years experience in a technical management role.
Previous experience in social housing installation projects is advantageous.
Experience working directly with residents and clients.
A clean UK driving licence and DBS check will be required.
