Purpose of the Role
Responsible for the accurate and timely execution of work plans within their Protein Sciences area. Accountable for delivering high‑quality experimental outputs that support early drug discovery workflows in their area of expertise.
Key Accountabilities
1. Execute approved work plans for early drug discovery projects, ensuring accuracy, reproducibility, and adherence to project timelines.
2. Provide recommendations to improve work plans for review and approval by Grade 5 or above.
3. Support multiple projects across different modalities and therapeutic areas.
4. Perform initial data analysis and prepare results for internal review prior to release to internal or external customers.
5. Deliver accurate, efficient, and timely data recording and reporting for all procedures.
6. Ensure routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments for accurate and reliable performance.
7. Adhere to all laboratory safety protocols.
Knowledge & Experience
8. Technical knowledge in Protein Biochemistry, Structural Biology, or Biophysics, with a demonstrated ability to deliver high‑quality results within agreed timelines and quality criteria.
9. Strong understanding of the scientific and technical principles underlying experimental approaches in Protein Biochemistry, Structural Biology and Biophysics.
10. Demonstrated ability to execute work plans with precision and attention to detail.
11. Growing independence in day‑to‑day technical decision‑making, with appropriate guidance from senior colleagues.
12. Commitment to following all training and Quality Management documents for the correct use and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Education and Qualifications
A Degree or corresponding experience in a relevant scientific discipline ideally with relevant experience in industry.
