Your new role
As an HGV Mechanic, you'll carry out inspection, maintenance and repair work on a diverse fleet including HGVs, LGVs, plant equipment and specialist municipal vehicles. You'll ensure all vehicles meet statutory compliance, safety standards and operational readiness.Key responsibilities include:
* Conducting routine servicing, MOT preparation and safety inspections
* Diagnosing faults and completing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs
* Maintaining accurate service records and documentation
* Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety and local authority standards
* Supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive workshop environment
What you'll need to succeed
* Time‑served HGV Mechanic / Vehicle Technician (or equivalent)
* Experience working on HGVs and/or municipal fleet vehicles
* Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills
* A proactive approach and ability to work independently
* HGV licence (desirable but not essential)
