We are looking for someone like you.We’re currently recruiting for a Transport Supervisor on the Night Shift (21:30 – 06:00) at our site in Sherburn in Elmet, Yorkshire.As part of this busy transport operation on our British Gypsum contract, you’ll ensure the timely and safe dispatch of drivers.
Pay, benefits and more:
We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £33,500per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:
* Support the Transport Manager with adherence to all compliance and legal obligations during your shift with an emphasis on safety.
* Ensure that the night plan is managed and executed ensuring all deliveries and collections are completed.
* Ensure all process and procedures are followed and that we operate a safe and efficient environment.
* Ensure all staff are trained and following company procedures.
* Ensure drivers are dispatched at their allocated times to meet the contract SLAs.
* Ensure VOR / Defect management processes are followed and all logs are up to date.
* Arrange breakdown for vehicles or trailers.
* Be the initial site response person in the event of an incident, liaising with British Gypsum and the Transport Manager.
What you need to succeed at XPO:
* It’s important you have exposure of working in a fast-paced environment – no two days will be the same and we need you to think on your feet
* Previous experience supervising and developing a team within a complex transport environment
* Proven experience within transport and a good understanding of compliance and driver hours
* Computer literate as will be answering email, dispatching drivers, and compiling a handover every morning.
* Team building experience.
* Experience in a fast-paced, time critical environment.
* Some transport experience dealing with C+E drivers would be beneficial.
