As we expand, we are looking for a highly motivated, strategic, and results-driven
Business Development Manager to scale our commercial pipeline, win new clients, and
grow revenue.
Role Overview & Purpose
As the Business Development Manager, you will be instrumental in driving BRS’s growth
across new and existing markets. You will act as the external face of BRS in the sector,
develop new relationships with contractors and developers, and work cross-functionally
to translate opportunities into profitable contracts. This is a high-impact role: you will
help shape the strategic direction of commercial growth for the company.
You will be expected to:
• Develop and execute a business development strategy aligned with BRS’s long-
term goals
• Identify and qualify leads in the construction / post-construction sector
• Build relationships and networks with contractors, developers, project
managers, and other stakeholders
• Collaborate with operations, estimating, and delivery teams to ensure proposals
are technically and commercially feasible
• Track and manage the sales pipeline, forecasting, reporting, and KPI delivery
• Represent BRS at industry events, trade shows, and networking engagements
• Monitor competitors, market trends, and emerging opportunities
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Prospecting
• Identify, research, and target new clients (contractors, property developers,
facilities managers) in regions across the UK
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities
• Lead outreach campaigns (cold contact, referral, networking, digital channels)
• Qualify opportunities and prioritise based on strategic fit, margin, and risk
Relationship Management & Client Retention
• Build, nurture, and grow long-term relationships post-award
• Identify cross-sell, upsell, and recurring service opportunities
• Work with delivery teams to ensure client satisfaction, timely delivery, and
quality handover
Reporting, Forecasting & Strategy
• Maintain the CRM / pipeline data integrity and generate regular forecasts,
dashboards, and analysis
• Track KPIs: wins, conversion rates, average contract value, sales cycle length,
margin by deal, client retention
• Feed market intelligence, competitor insight, and opportunity trends into senior
leadership
• Contribute to the strategic growth roadmap (regions, sectors, service lines)
External Representation
• Represent BRS at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events
• Create and deliver presentations, pitch decks, and client workshops
• Promote the BRS brand and positioning as a quality leader in construction
cleaning
What We’re Looking For: Skills & Experience
Essential
• Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in business development / sales within
construction, facilities management, cleaning, or a related B2B sector
• Track record of winning medium to large value contracts
• Strong network or proven ability to build relationships within the UK construction
/ real estate / developer market
• Skilled in managing full sales lifecycles: lead generation → tendering →
negotiation → closing
• Excellent commercial acumen and understanding of risk, margin, and contract
management
• Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills
• Analytical mindset: ability to interpret pipeline data, derive insights, and act
• Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable working in a growing,
entrepreneurial environment
• Proficiency with CRM systems
• Valid UK driving licence (travel across UK will be required)
Desirable
• Experience working in specialist service sectors (e.g. cleaning, post-
construction, facilities maintenance)
• Existing contacts / relationships with general contractors, developers, or project
managers
• Understanding of health & safety, quality standards, and tender compliance
• Experience in international or multi-regional business development
