Overview
Buyer – Full Time, Fixed Term Contract (Secondment cover, 23 months). 37 hours per week. Location: Leat House, Washington (with hybrid working).
Salary – Up To £48,700 (depending On Experience).
We have a fantastic opportunity for a customer focused individual to join our Opex team in procurement. The Buyer role will support the category management team on all key aspects of the strategic sourcing process for a range of procurement activities across pre agreed categories of spend, building relationships and influence. Using both tactical and strategic approaches to sourcing and negotiation you will bring challenge, new ideas and solutions to help the business think differently and seek new opportunities and innovations from the marketplace.
Our team currently works a hybrid model, which is a mix of working from any NWL office as required and the rest of the time at home.
Responsibilities
* Support the category management team on strategic sourcing processes for various procurement activities within pre agreed spend categories.
* Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and suppliers to influence purchasing decisions.
* Apply both tactical and strategic sourcing approaches, participate in negotiations, and bring innovative ideas and market opportunities to the business.
* Contribute to delivering value and savings through procurement activities and sourcing events.
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven level of strategic sourcing experience with a track record of delivering savings and unlocking value in the supply chain.
* Strong negotiation skills, commercial acumen, and problem-solving abilities.
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with stakeholder management experience.
* Procurement related qualifications (e.g., MCIPS or degree) or equivalent experience in a procurement setting.
* Experience developing sourcing and category strategies in regulated environments is advantageous but not required if you can demonstrate relevant experience.
