Financial Controller – Islington, London About the role: We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our growing team in North London. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance professional ready to lead the finance function and provide crucial financial support to SMEs. You will be responsible for building and maintaining robust financial processes, delivering accurate management information, and supporting strategic decision-making through budgeting, forecasting, and insightful financial analysis. This is a key role in shaping the finance function and providing the foundations for future client growth. Key Responsibilities Lead the finance function, providing guidance and support to a small finance team Prepare budgets, forecasts, and management reports to inform decision-making Manage cash flow, cost control, and financial performance Improve and maintain financial controls and processes Perform balance sheet reconciliations and oversee month-end reporting Present financial information clearly to financial and non-financial stakeholders Support business planning across multiple London regions (Islington, NW, EC, N) Confident use of Excel (PivotTables, SUMIFS, charts) and accounting software ( Xero, Sage 50, QuickBooks) Fully qualified accountant ( ACCA / CIMA / ACMA / FCCA / ICAEW ) or QBE with 5 years’ experience Experience leading a small finance team Role Details Location: Islington, London (on-site) Coverage: Additional postal codes NW, EC, N Hours: Part-time, 2–3 days per week Rate: £38 per hour Type: Part-time, self-employed About Us The Part-Time Finance People are passionate about helping business owners run more successful and happier businesses.
