Consultant in Infection / Consultant Clinical Scientist - Microbiology

We are looking for a Consultant in Infection / Consultant Clinical Scientist - Microbiology to join the Northern Care Alliance Infection Sciences team and provide additional support for infection services at Salford Royal Hospital, as well as support function across the NCA.
Responsibilities
* Provide services in clinical microbiology and infection prevention and control across the NCA, including duties based at The Royal Oldham Hospital.
* Support the Infection Sciences team and deliver clinical infection services to Salford.
* Participate in a 1 in 12 on‑call rota covering the NCA, The Christie, Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trusts.
* Implement innovation and service development and write protocols and guidelines.
* Collaborate with senior clinical and management roles to influence and drive change.
* Complete an initial and annual review of duties with the Clinical Director of Infection Sciences as part of job planning.
Qualifications
* Fully qualified and registered with the GMC or within 6 months of obtaining a CCT in medical microbiology (or medical microbiology and infectious diseases).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to influence others in senior clinical and management roles.
* Experience in writing protocols and guidelines.
* Track record for implementing change and a desire to improve and succeed.
