We are currently looking for an Estimator to join a well-established, family-run SME based in Derby.
You will be responsible for carrying out estimates for air conditioning, ventilation, and extraction systems. As well as the estimating, you will be required to complete daily quote follow-up calls and CRM updates to keep the company's pipeline accurate.
As part of the role, you will be expected to attend site visits with the sales manager to gain an understanding of how our client surveys a project at the estimating stage. As you grow into the role, you will be expected to carry out these site surveys independently.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Contact clients to clarify aspects of each project.
2. Complete site surveys & estimates.
3. Send all estimates before the deadline and include value engineering options where appropriate.
4. Complete the first follow-up call on every estimate within 24hrs.
5. Complete periodic follow-up of every project to ensure pipeline accuracy.
6. Keep the CRM up to date on all projects to ensure pipeline accuracy.
7. Report on your pipeline weekly at the sales meeting.
8. Share your desires for progression and learning with your manager to ensure goals and KPI’s can be set which help you progress.
9. Work closely with our project management and maintenance team to ensure team unity & a strong, enjoyable culture.
Requirements
* Some estimating experience is preferable but not prerequisite.
* Some construction experience is preferable but not prerequisite.
* Strong accountability skills.
* Listening and questioning skills.
* Time management and planning skills.
* Experience with Microsoft Office (incl. Advanced Excel).
* Analytical and logical problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside the box.
Hours: Monday – Friday: 8hr day shift (flexible start / finish times)
