This newly created role is an exciting opportunity to join the Commercial team. The role will primarily focus on looking at forecast sales targets, current inventory and identifying forward stock requirements across several product ranges. There will be a requirement to work closely with Supply Chain colleagues to manage lead times and action relevant procurements. This role will also be responsible for identifying issues with availability on volume stock lines and look to minimise out of stock issues, ensuring availability of all styles, colours and sizes to meet retailers' and school needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the merchandising team's KPIs and development plans.
* Analyse sales data, retailer and school preferences to forecast demand and plan inventory levels.
* Monitor inventory levels across warehouses and distribution channels and adjust procurement channels accordingly
* Improving core OTIF measures for both Domestic and International markets
* Identify buy requirements of products and raw materials based on forecasted sales for core ranges.
* Monitor sales trends to ensure garment and fabric orders are continually aligned.
* Liaising with sales teams to create and review accurate forecasts by product.
* Major interface with supply chain and customers.
* Maintain accurate records of inventory, procurement and sales performance.
Skills, experience and education requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Apparel Merchandising or relevant business experience.
* Experience of managing a team of Merchandisers in data driven business.
* Experience of working with Microsoft office and particularly good excel skills.
* Experience of working in a customer and service focused business.
* Familiar with working in team environments
* High level of numerate accuracy.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyse data quickly to draw conclusions and drive the appropriate actions.
* Ability to communicate effectively throughout the business, and across different levels in the business.
* Experience within apparel or educational supplies (desirable but not essential).
* Excellent Negotiation and Vendor management skills.
* Experience working with planning, scheduling and ERP systems
