Job Description

Job Title: Business Development Manager

Location: London - Remote

The Role

As a Business Development Manager, you will lead and develop key business customer relationships to deliver lasting impact and revenue through strategic initiatives. You will drive digital transformation in international trade for key business customers, ensuring the achievement of both the organisation's and the customer’s business outcomes.

By leveraging a diverse team of international trade and customs experts, you will engage at senior levels to bring industry-relevant solutions that help clients adopt digital technologies and maximise growth. This role requires a proven history of building large enterprise opportunities, achieving sales targets, and effective partner collaboration to execute territory account plans.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Development & Engagement

* Lead account strategies that yield high-value sales and new opportunities aligned with goals and budgets.
* Orchestrate execution strategies to ensure engagements increase revenue potential for both the organisation and the customer.
* Coordinate diverse teams, including Subject Matter Experts, to deliver on account plans and drive growth.
* Proactively expand a strategic network of external customers, decision-makers, and vertical industry partners.
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of customer business needs and industry insights to articulate growth opportunities.
* Influence stakeholders to drive change on behalf of the customer and improve the organisation's offerings.
* Show long-term differentiated value by guiding internal colleagues on developing deeper customer knowledge.

Strategic Thinking

* Create deep connections with decision-makers at multiple levels to drive purchase decisions and increase participation.
* Leverage professional tools and resources, such as LinkedIn, to engage with target organisations.
* Address complex political blockers through established relationships to drive execution.
* Engage in strategic discussions by articulating ideas to facilitate the evolution of business growth.
* Utilise industry-focused business insights to create long-term advantages for the customer.

Sales Excellence

* Build trust and loyalty by providing up-to-date insights and introducing innovative ideas relevant to the customer's strategy.
* Own and build account plans that showcase the value of the organisation’s offerings based on industry trends.
* Maintain a deep understanding of customs and trade challenges and how they align with the organisation's portfolio.
* Position the organisation to increase joint value by engaging with senior leaders and executives.
* Maintain accurate and timely records in the CRM (Microsoft D365) and role model its usage across the organisation.
* Develop and present compelling value proposition presentations and specialised business plans.

Skills and Experience

* Sales Success: A demonstrable track record of success in B2B sales to mid-market and large enterprises, with a sales quota exceeding £500,000.
* Executive Presence: Solid experience working at Director or C-Level to establish and nurture trusted relationships.
* Deal Management: An established track record of winning large deals and contracts in complex solution and services domains.
* Structured Sales Approach: Ability to identify win-themes, stakeholder groups, and decision criteria within prospect organisations.
* Technical Literacy: Working knowledge and experience using an industry-leading CRM system.
* Commercial Acumen: High degree of commercial acumen; familiarity with membership organisations, professional services, or business advisory is ideal.
* Interpersonal Skills: Excellent relationship development, influencing, and communication skills.
* Work Ethic: Extremely organised, proactive, results-oriented, and comfortable handling complexity.
