Offer description

As a Senior Clinical Support Worker you will be responsible for actively participating as a key member of the clinical team for providing quality services for an identified client group under the supervision of a registered professional. You will maintain, develop and evidence clinical knowledge, skills and competencies at all opportunities and through the competency framework. You will demonstrate an attitude which respects and values service users and their carers. Be accountable and work autonomously within clearly defined boundaries of the Senior Clinical Support Worker competencies and carry out specific delegated tasks. This may include extended roles delegated by a registered professional. You will be expected to deliver care and services within the strategic objectives of the organisation and promote the principles of Recovery. These principles will recognise the need to promote safe practice; value the beliefs and aims of service users and carers; work in partnership and offer meaningful choice; and value social inclusion.


Main duties of the job

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing a high level of care for Service Users experiencing mental health crisis and therefore good interpersonal communication and organisational skills are required. You will join senior clinicians in formulating care, and will work on a 1:1 basis and in groups with service users.

There is scope for professional development and training in evidence based interventions will be provided.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Care Certificate or equivalent
* Formal technical qualification e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ L3 H&SC, or Diploma L3 in H&SC, apprenticeship L3 in H&SC, VRQ L3 in mental health Or Foundation degree Or Additional skills and abilities which demonstrate an enhanced level of knowledge and training.


Experience

* Extensive proven experience of working with people with severe and enduring mental health problems. (2 years minimum).
* Working with service users with complexity and challenging behaviour.
* Ability to work under pressure
* Community based experience
* Inpatient based experience


Other

* Able to work flexible hours when required.
* Demonstrates a non-judgemental attitude towards service users
* Ability to travel independently

£27,485 to £30,162 a yeargross per annum
