You will be expected to run your own projects, working through the RIBA stages as well as working as part of a larger team. The office has a relaxed, flexible culture and regular social events take place.Your new roleYou'll play a key part in the Mechanical Design team and will have the opportunity to lead projects and mentor junior team members. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Ensuring an understanding of project briefs.
2. Design and specification of all Mechanical Building Services systems
3. Carry out the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Hevp, IES, HAP, AutoCAD, Revit, Excel, etc.
4. Preparing technical specifications.
5. Collaborate with the BIM team to prepare models and drawings.
6. Representing the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
7. Site surveys, inspections and monitor site works.
8. Report and technical note writing.
9. Maintainingplete records and archives topany standards.
10. Adherence to all quality, environmental &ernance processes.
11. Managing own workload, updating forward plan of workload regularly and working to time allocations.
12. Managing elements of project delivery and an understanding of budget costings.
13. Reviewing progress, including reporting any anomalies and changes of scope to the project lead.
14. Assist with technical development of junior staff.
What you'll need to succeed
15. Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or related subjects.
16. Chartered Engineer, or working towards CEng with CIBSE or IET.
17. Good level ofputer literacy in a range of mechanical digital tools - Hevp, IES, HAP, AutoCAD, Revit, etc.
18. Awareness of building physics principles.
19. Experience of working in a design consultancy and/or some experience of working within a contractor design environment is beneficial.
20. Good knowledge of appropriate technical standards.
21. Able to take charge of personal project deliverables, make decisions on developing the discipline design elements, act on own initiative and operate in a pro-active way.
22. Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients will be useful.
