Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality environments is highly desirable, alongside a strong commitment to food safety standards. The successful applicant will play a vital part in creating memorable moments for our guests while maintaining the highest levels of professionalism and expertise.
Responsibilities
* Curate and maintain an extensive wine list, ensuring variety and quality.
* Assist guests in selecting wines that complement their meals and preferences.
* Provide detailed information about different wines, including origin, tasting notes, and serving suggestions.
* Serve wine in accordance with established etiquette and safety standards.
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless food and beverage pairing experiences.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the wine cellar and service areas.
* Support catering events by providing expert wine service for private functions and special occasions.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations at all times.
* Participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry trends and new products.
Requirements
* Proven experience in hospitality, catering, or restaurant environments, preferably as a Sommelier or in a similar role.
* Knowledge of wine varieties, food pairings, and wine service techniques.
* Previous barista or food preparation experience is advantageous.
* Strong understanding of food safety standards and practices.
* Excellent communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanour.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
* A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
* Relevant certifications or training in wine or hospitality are preferred but not essential.
