MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
This organisation is a leading mobile and digital infrastructure provider, managing a large national portfolio and playing a critical role in enabling connectivity and digital transformation.
The Head of Strategy & Insight provides the strategic, analytical, and economic engine that underpins the organisation’s growth agenda. The role supports the definition of group strategy across both Core and New Business portfolios, delivering market, financial, and data-led insight to guide investment and commercial decision‑making.
By combining strategic thinking, economic modelling, and market intelligence, the role ensures that both Core and New Business initiatives are driven by robust analysis, clear evidence, and a shared understanding of value creation.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Scope
* Support the Strategy & Growth Lead in defining and refreshing the group strategy, integrating Core and New Business priorities.
* Coordinate inputs into the long‑term plan (LTP) and annual strategic planning cycle.
* Lead market intelligence and benchmarking across the tower and digital infrastructure sectors.
* Ensure consistency and quality of data, assumptions, and methodologies across all strategic documents and models.
Delivery
* Conduct strategic analysis, scenario modelling, and portfolio reviews to inform executive and board‑level decision‑making.
* Build and maintain economic models for the core infrastructure estate and new ventures, covering revenue, cost, tenancy, energy, and upgrade scenarios.
* Support the development of business cases for new products, partnerships, and M&A opportunities.
* Provide sensitivity and scenario analysis to assess risk and support investment prioritisation.
* Produce concise, high‑impact insight briefs for the CEO, Strategy & Growth Lead, and Senior Leadership Team.
* Track emerging technologies and adjacent sectors (e.g. small cells, edge compute, IoT) to identify future growth opportunities.
* Contribute to board and shareholder materials with strategic narratives, market context, and performance insights.
ROLE EXPERTISE
* Strong background in corporate strategy, business analysis, or commercial finance.
* Advanced analytical and financial modelling skills (Excel essential; data visualisation tools desirable).
* Ability to distil complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
* Highly organised, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Required)
* Proven experience in corporate strategy, business analysis, or commercial finance within telecoms, infrastructure, or technology sectors.
* Demonstrated ability to build and manage financial and economic models to support investment decisions.
* Experience in market research, competitive benchmarking, and data analytics.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
* Degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related analytical discipline.
