About the role
Our dedicated kitchen team are looking for an experienced and passionate Chef to join them on a part time basis at our stunning retirement village, Ōtau Ridge Village in Clevedon, South Auckland. You will be responsible for whipping up delicious quality meals and designing tasty menus for our residents in a brand-new care home environment. Alongside our Kitchen Manager, you will help lead our team ensuring the coordination of the kitchen is effortless.
Current permanent weekly hours are 22.5 hours a week over 5 days: Friday to Tuesday 10 am to 3 pm
Days/hours may be subject to change as the operation grows, so flexibility is required. There will be an opportunity to pick up extra hours too.
Duties Include:
5. Creating delicious food in a restaurant environment
6. Coordinating the kitchen to ensure it operates effortlessly.
7. Maintaining a high standard of food with consistent portion sizes and outstanding presentation.
8. Using your leadership skills to support our kitchen team alongside our Food Services Manager.
9. Take responsibility for the overall management of the kitchen in the absence of the Food Services manager.
Skills & Experience Required:
10. Proven experience in a similar role - previous Aged Care experience would be an advantage
11. Commercial kitchen and or café experience preferred.
12. Outstanding customer service skills
13. Food industry qualification
14. Excellent food hygiene practices and personal presentation.
