Mobilisation Operations Manager – Specialist Children’s Residential Services Salary: £65,000 per annum £5,000 car allowance Location: North East (Northumberland, Durham, Teesside, Newcastle and surrounding areas) Full-Time, Permanent Remit Compass Associates are proud to be partnering with a specialist children’s residential provider as they continue significant expansion across the North East. This newly created role is dedicated to the mobilisation of new solo-occupancy homes for children with complex needs and trauma. The organisation has an ambitious pipeline of services to be launched over the next 3 years, requiring an experienced leader to ensure each home is delivered safely, compliantly and to a high standard from day one. The Role Reporting to the Regional Director of Operations, the Mobilisation Operations Manager will lead the full mobilisation process, from property identification and Ofsted registration through to go-live. You will directly oversee peripatetic managers and provide short-term line management for new Registered Managers during their induction and probation period, handing services over once they are embedded. Key responsibilities include: Driving the mobilisation of multiple new homes across the North East. Leading Ofsted registration processes and ensuring compliance with statutory frameworks. Acting as Responsible Individual when required, liaising with regulators and external stakeholders. Working closely with clinical, education, quality and safeguarding teams to embed best practice. Ensuring services open on time, with robust governance, financial viability and the right culture in place. Supporting recruitment, supervision and development of new staff teams. Location This is a regional role covering the North East, including Northumberland, Durham, Teesside, Newcastle and surrounding areas. Travel across the region is required. Essential Criteria Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (Children & Young People). Minimum 6 years’ residential childcare experience supporting young people with complex needs. At least 4 years’ management experience, including recruitment, training and performance management. Strong experience of Ofsted frameworks and regulated services. Demonstrable experience of service mobilisation or new openings. Excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills. The Candidate This role will suit an RI, Regional Manager or accomplished Service Manager who has successfully mobilised services before. Candidates from both children’s and blended adult/children’s backgrounds will be considered where they have Ofsted knowledge and demonstrable children’s sector experience. Package & Benefits Salary: £65,000 per annum £5,000 car allowance. 35 days annual leave, increasing with continuous service at 2 and 5 years. 40-hour workweek (Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm) with occasional flexibility.
