We are seeking an experienced and proactive SEND Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support children with special educational needs across the school from EYFS to Year 6.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about inclusion and confident in taking a lead role in supporting teaching and learning. The role starts in October 2025, and is on a temporary long-term basis, with a view to going permanent for the most suitable candidate.
Duties as SEND HLTA:
* Plan and deliver small-group or one-to-one interventions for pupils with a range of SEND, under the guidance of the SENCO and class teachers
* Lead whole-class teaching when required, using your HLTA training to cover lessons
* Adapt and differentiate resources to meet the individual needs of learners
* Monitor, assess and record pupil progress, feeding back to teachers and parents/carers
* Work closely with external professionals and contribute to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews
* Promote a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports social, emotional, and academic development
Ideal SEND HLTA:
* HLTA status or equivalent qualification
* Proven experience working with children with a variety of special educational needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties)
* Strong communication, organisational, and behaviour management skills as a SEND HLTA.
* Ability to work independently and show initiative, as well as work part of a team
* Commitment to safeguarding and ongoing professional development
