3 months contract with a local authority Job Purpose We are seeking a locum social worker with experience in mental health and/or older adults to provide support to our services over the summer and possibly beyond. The role involves assessing the needs of individuals with acute, complex, or enduring mental health problems and their carers, formulating and implementing care plans, and working within a multi-disciplinary Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). Key Duties/Accountabilities Undertake Mental Health Act assessments and statutory functions if qualified as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP). Participate in assessments as required if a Best Interest Assessor for Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS). Assess and identify the needs of service users and their carers, ensuring these needs are met to enhance their quality of life and independence. Work in partnership with internal and external professionals and organizations involved in assessment and service provision. Provide professional advice and expertise to less experienced staff, including students and colleagues, and carry a complex caseload. Essential Experience Required Post-qualifying experience and working knowledge of mental disorder, care coordination, Care Programme Approach (CPA), and risk assessment. Experience of staff/student supervision, working effectively with other agencies and professions, reviewing services and outcomes, and working in partnership with service users and carers. Essential Qualification Required Social Work registration is essential. Additional Information Working hours: 36 hours per week. Satisfactory clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service is required. This role involves working in the office 5 days a week with no remote working.
