Salary: £70k plus bonus subject to T&Cs
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and compassionate General Manager to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of a 78-bed residential home Cornford House in Royal Tunbridge Wells (TN2 4QS). You will take full accountability for clinical and non-clinical operations, ensuring exceptional care standards and regulatory compliance while promoting a warm, person-centred environment for residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage all operational, financial, and care-related functions of the home
2. Ensure full compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards, company policies, and other regulatory requirements
3. Deliver high-quality, person-centred care that supports residents’ physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being
4. Oversee recruitment, training, supervision, and performance management of the staff team
5. Ensure accurate care planning, medication administration, and safeguarding practices
6. Manage occupancy levels, liaise with external stakeholders, and promote strong community links
7. Maintain rigorous quality assurance systems through regular audits, meetings, and reporting
8. Be a visible, positive role model, upholding the values and brand standards of the organisation
What We’re Looking For
9. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
10. Proven leadership experience in a residential care setting
11. Strong understanding of CQC requirements and person-centred care principles
12. Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills
13. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team
14. Solid IT skills and confidence managing budgets and resources
15. Experience supporting residents living with dementia
16. A flexible, hands-on approach to care home management
17. An active NMC Pin is desirable
