Our client is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their busy manufacturing operation in Cumbernauld. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical background who enjoys fault-finding, problem-solving, and working within a fast-paced production environment. The successful Maintenance Engineer will play a key role in minimising downtime, improving plant reliability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
What You'll Be Doing
Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across production machinery and equipment.
Diagnosing and rectifying electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
Working closely with production teams to improve plant performance and productivity.
Investigating breakdowns and machinery speed losses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Ensuring spare parts, materials, and maintenance resources are available when required.
Recording maintenance activities and repairs to identify recurring issues and support continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing or production environment.
Multi-skilled engineering experience with a strong electrical bias.
Ability to fault-find on single and three-phase systems, servo motors, AC motors, sensors, and control systems.
Knowledge of PLC-controlled machinery and electrical installations, including lighting and small power.
Mechanical maintenance experience covering gearboxes, drive systems, rollers, shafts, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
Ability to strip down machinery to component level and rebuild equipment effectively.
NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent preferred, although time-served engineers will also be considered.
Strong communication skills, organisational ability, and a proactive approach to maintenance.
