Robert Half is recruiting for a Payments Associate to support a financial services operations team during a temporary transition period. This 3-6 month contract will focus on supporting mortgage and payment processing activities, ensuring payments and account updates are handled accurately while system support changes are implemented.

Key Responsibilities
* Process manual payments and account transactions within an internal payment system
* Perform accurate data entry relating to payment processing and account updates
* Allocate and reconcile incoming payments against customer accounts
* Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies or exceptions
* Maintain accurate transaction and account records in line with internal procedures
* Liaise with internal teams to resolve payment queries and operational issues
* Support daily and periodic reconciliations to ensure records match payment activity
* Assist in maintaining operational continuity during a temporary system transition period

Experience & Skills Required
* Previous experience in data entry, financial administration, or payment processing
* Experience working in a finance, banking, or operational processing environment is beneficial
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with high volumes of data
* Comfortable performing repetitive processing tasks with a high degree of accuracy
* Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
* Basic Excel and general systems proficiency preferred

* Office-based initially in Saffron Walden during onboarding and training
* Hybrid flexibility available once established in the role
* Immediate start required
* £13-£15 per hour, depending on experience
