Fair Ways is a leading children’s services charity based in the Solent, delivering fostering, education, residential, mental health and family services, and cares for over 400 children, families, young people and vulnerable adults each year. Where and when we need you? We are actively seeking compassionate Support Workers for our home in Portsmouth to join a team that empowers young adults to navigate the path towards independence and success. Our Post-16 supported living provision consists of a collection of small family homes with private rooms and shared communal areas. The aim is to provide stability, consistency and acceptance, with an emphasis on young adults being responsible for themselves.
Responsibilities

* Inspiring growth: Implement a range of approaches, including social life skills, therapeutic activities, and effective role modelling to guide and mentor young adults.

* Providing individualised care: Contribute to care plans, focusing on personal development and well-being, including guidance on nutrition, medical needs, hygiene, and exploring work placements, education and personal interests.
* Fostering independence: Support residents in daily tasks to promote self-reliance and assist their transition to independent living.
* Building respectful, impactful relationships: Act as a key worker, liaising with professionals and external agencies, and manage administrative tasks including accurate record-keeping and reporting.
* Trauma-informed practice: Apply industry-recognised RiiSE training to deliver trauma-informed responses and, where appropriate, physical interventions to support during times of crisis.
This role is offered on a rota pattern of 37.5 hours, comprising early shifts, late shifts, and up to 2 sleep-in shifts per week.
Requirements: All candidates must have a full driving license and access to use of a car; homes may have unit vehicles as a first option. Successful candidates will be required to provide an enhanced Disclosure (DBS). This disclosure cost will be met by Fair Ways.
