The Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Head of Domestic Services to lead the strategic and operational delivery of cleaning and domestic services across multiple hospital sites. This vital role ensures that all services meet national healthcare cleaning standards, support infection prevention, and contribute to a positive patient experience.
As a senior leader, youll oversee a large, multi-site team and drive continuous improvement across service delivery, workforce development, and compliance. Youll also play a key role in shaping business continuity plans, managing supplier relationships, and contributing to broader organisational planning.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the delivery of safe, efficient domestic services across all hospital sites
* Ensure compliance with national cleaning standards, infection control, and H&S legislation
* Drive service improvements and change initiatives across the function
* Oversee business continuity planning and supplier performance
* Provide visible leadership to managers, supervisors, and frontline staff
* Promote professional development and ensure workforce alignment with organisational values
* Represent domestic services at senior management level and contribute to strategic planning
Ideal Candidate
* Educated to Masters level or equivalent experience (5+ years)
* Postgraduate management qualification and evidence of CPD
* Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
* Experience in NHS, healthcare, hospitality, or commercial cleaning services
* Knowledge of H&S legislation, infection control, and FM systems (e.g. Micad, FM First)
* Proactive, flexible, and customer-focused with a hands-on approach
