We are recruiting for a Field Mechanical Technician to join a hands-on operational team supporting the maintenance, repair and installation of industrial mechanical systems across multiple sites.
This is a practical, field-based role working on pumps, rotating equipment and mechanical handling systems. You will be involved in fault finding, breakdown response, strip-down/rebuild activities and planned maintenance work in varied operational environments.
No formal qualifications are required - we are looking for strong practical mechanical ability, problem-solving skills and a willingness to work in challenging field conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical systems on site
Diagnose faults and support breakdown response activities
Strip down, rebuild and repair pumps, motors and industrial equipment
Carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks
Work across multiple sites in field-based environments
Support workshop-based repair and refurbishment when required
Work safely in outdoor, confined space and operational environments
Record job activity using mobile systems and documentation tools
Support on-call / emergency response rota
What were looking for
Strong hands-on mechanical experience (not necessarily qualified)
Experience working with tools, plant, machinery or industrial equipment
Ability to fault find and problem solve in practical situations
Comfortable working in physically demanding outdoor environments
Safety conscious approach to all work activities
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable (NOT essential)
Experience with pumps, hydraulics or rotating equipment
Confined Space / Manual Handling / Lifting experience
Background in maintenance, plant or field service roles
Welding or fabrication skills
