Job Description:
The Role
This role supports the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and the Environment by creating impactful social media content, coordinating strategic campaigns, and delivering engaging events that promote the Faculty’s profile. The successful candidate will develop, implement, and evaluate marketing activities that strengthen community engagement, attract students, and raise the visibility of academic and research achievements across multiple platforms.
The role will work closely with faculty colleagues, the central Marketing & Communications team, and external partners to align messaging and ensure a consistent voice in all digital and in-person communications. The role will combine creativity, planning, and data-driven decision-making to support student recruitment, public engagement, and institutional brand awareness.
The Person
The successful candidate will be a creative and driven communications professional with a strong grasp of social media trends, content creation, and event coordination. You will be confident in managing multiple social platforms, producing engaging digital content, and using data to inform strategy and demonstrate impact.
With excellent organisational skills and a collaborative mindset, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment, working across teams to deliver high-quality campaigns and events that raise the profile of the Faculty. A genuine interest in higher education, science, and technology communications, combined with a commitment to inclusivity and continuous improvement, will be key to success in this role.
The Faculty
The Faculty of Engineering, Computing and the Environment was formed in 2022. Its schools bring together interdisciplinary research, improving the scope of the student experience and encouraging partnerships between academia and commerce.
Through a collaborative approach, the faculty offers greater access to resources, knowledge, and information and a broader perspective on its subjects, with teaching and research staff working more closely with their colleagues in other disciplines.
The faculty spans a wide range of disciplines including construction and surveying, aerospace and mechanical engineering, geography, and the environment.
