An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Family Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team working within a new service in Warrington.
Warrington Council, in partnership with healthcare, is about to open a care home aimed at supporting children and young people with complex mental health needs to live at home and in their communities.
The service will offer outreach to families requiring support to remain together, as well as 4 short to medium-term beds registered under the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
The successful candidate will join the multidisciplinary team (MDT), which includes Senior Mental Health Practitioners, Social Workers, and Residential Staff, working collaboratively to provide holistic care planning, risk management, and therapeutic treatment. The post will be based within the care home, with management and clinical supervision provided by the CYP Crisis Response Team.

As a Family Therapist, the post holder will deliver high standards of evidence-based, client-centered care to children and young people with mental health issues within this residential setting.
This role is aligned with the CYPMH strategy and is expected to develop further in line with national and local initiatives.
This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check for children's and adults' barred lists.
Main duties of the job
To provide specialist assessments of referred clients using appropriate interview and assessment methods, formulate and devise treatment plans, and deliver interventions using a range of models suitable to the service, including both short and long-term approaches. To offer mental health advice, guidance, and consultation to other professionals and agencies. To work autonomously within the community, contributing to multidisciplinary assessments and treatments. To manage a caseload requiring longer-term family and systemic psychotherapy, and to communicate effectively regarding assessments, treatment plans, and client needs. To liaise with other health, social care, and education staff to coordinate care. To conduct clinical work in health and education settings and clients’ homes to meet their needs.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Post-graduate/doctoral qualification in family and systemic psychotherapy recognized by DOH and AFT.
Knowledge & Experience
* Experience in mental health assessments and treatments for children and families across various ages.
* Proven ability to formulate and develop treatment plans for various presentations, including both short and long-term approaches.
* Experience working autonomously with families in assessment and treatment roles.
* Participation in multidisciplinary team meetings and assessments within clinical settings.
* Experience managing families requiring long-term family and systemic psychotherapy.
