We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Merthyr Tydfil to assist with the appointment of a Lifeline Control Room Operator, on a 4.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Hours per week: 18.50
Rate of Pay: £13.26 - £16.84 per hour
Responsibilities:
* Staff the Lifeline and Emergency Planning Control Room on a rota basis.
* Receive and action calls via landline, PNC, fax, and other communication networks, ensuring each is dealt with appropriately.
* Provide guidance and reassurance to service users, next of kin, scheme managers, and nominated contacts.
* Monitor and respond to Lifeline, Telecare, and alarm systems.
* Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with Data Protection requirements.
Essential Requirements:
* Minimum 3 GCSEs (A*E) or equivalent experience.
* Completion of a 10-hour online Welsh Work course.
* Experience using telephone systems and IT systems to engage with customers.
* Knowledge and understanding of the Data Protection Act.
* Ability to work unsupervised and prioritise tasks in a high-pressure environment.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Must be able to work alone and cover a flexible rota (including nights, weekends, and bank holidays).
