Production Engineer – Newark
A well established engineering manufacturer based in Newark is looking to recruit a Production Engineer to support the optimisation and development of their manufacturing processes.
The company designs and manufactures specialist products which are supplied to industries including marine, aerospace, defence, medical and industrial automation.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative engineering environment where you will be involved in continuous improvement, process development and new product introduction.
The Role
The Production Engineer will work closely with production, quality and design teams to improve manufacturing processes, resolve production challenges and support the introduction of new products into manufacturing.
Key responsibilities include:
* Analysing and improving existing manufacturing processes
* Supporting new product introduction and transition from design to manufacture
* Identifying and resolving production issues through root cause analysis
* Creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation including work instructions and process flows
* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives including Lean, Kaizen and 5S
* Providing technical engineering support to production teams
* Monitoring key performance indicators including quality, throughput and reliability
* Ensuring manufacturing processes comply with safety and quality standards
Requirements
* Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering
* Experience working in a Production or Manufacturing Engineering role
* Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Ability to work collaboratively across engineering and production teams
Desirable experience includes:
* CAD experience such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
* Knowledge of ISO9001 or similar quality standards
* Experience supporting new product introduction
