BioDot is currently experiencing growth and we have an immediate need for a Staff Accountant to work out of our Chichester, UK, European Office.
The Staff Accountant ensures the company receives payments for goods and services and records these transactions accordingly. Responsibilities include verifying and posting receipts, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring internal controls and compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS), government regulations, and relevant legislation.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Manage general accounting processes: cash, accounts receivable, fixed assets, expense reports, and other general ledger activities.
2. Ensure segregation of duties and controls are in place to prevent impropriety.
3. Participate in monthly close and financial reporting, including quarterly, year-end, and tax requirements.
4. Perform reconciliations on all general ledger accounts and ensure IFRS compliance.
5. Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end closing activities.
6. Assist with physical inventory counts and analysis.
7. Review and perform account accruals.
8. Maintain knowledge of accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
9. Ensure proper record retention for Finance, Human Resources, and other areas.
10. Contribute to annual planning and monthly financial forecasting.
11. Comply with all Biodot and ATS reporting requirements.
12. Implement process improvements within the department.
13. Lead or participate in audits as assigned.
14. Adhere to quality standards and initiatives.
15. Generate sales, gross margin, and cost reports, including trend analysis and suggestions for improvement.
16. Provide analysis to support business operations and initiatives.
17. Ensure compliance with ISO standards and documentation for the department.
18. Participate in ATS Business Model (ABM) and Kaizen events.
19. Perform all activities ethically, following corporate procedures and the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or up to three (3) years of relevant experience.
* Preferred two (2) years of experience in an IFRS environment.
* Strong math, communication, and organizational skills.
* Proficiency with software/systems such as Xero, Sage, Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills), JDE, and OneStream is a plus.
* Ability to work with business systems, directly or indirectly.
* Hands-on approach and ability to meet deadlines.
