Deputy Manager - Children's Home
Your new company
We are recruiting a Deputy Manager to assist the Registered Manager and administer the children’s homes in accordance with relevant statutory legislation, resources, council policies and departmental plans, strategies, aims and objectives for children and young people and to deputise in the absence of the Manager.
Your new role
Your role as Deputy Manager will be to assist the Manager in ensuring that the homes meet the standards and expectations of their Statement of Purposes (SoPs) at all times and that the children and young people staying/living in the homes receive the appropriate support to enable them to achieve positive and agreed outcomes in line with their personal plans. As well as to safeguard and promote the health and wellbeing of children and young people by fulfilling all duties and responsibilities required by statutory legislation, regulations and guidance.
What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for a person who is and has:• Proven experience at a senior level of working with young people within a residential childcare environment• Relevant qualification that meets the equivalent criteria for Social Care Wales registration, in addition to a Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People)• Excellent communication and organisation skills
You will need to have the ability, skills and knowledge of:• Knowledge of The Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 and other current legislative requirements• Knowledge of budget monitoring and management systems• Knowledge of child development, appreciation of the needs of young people.• Ability to undertake and complete assessments• Experience of working with a Behaviour support model of care• Ability to plan, organise, and prepare reports and chair meetings• Experience of managing staff• Ability to understand your own duty of care, to safeguard and promote the interests of young people and challenge inappropriate practices• Problem-solving and decision-making skills
