We are working on behalf of a fantastic special school in Cheltenham that is looking for an Early Years SEMH Teaching Assistant to join the team in either a full-time or part-time capacity. The school is a unique setting that looks after students aged 2-10 years old with a range of special needs, primarily focused around SEMH.
The school has been established in Cheltenham for some time. It's a challenging environment to work in due to the needs of the students, but that also makes the work more rewarding. They are a wonderful school, and feedback from candidates placed there has always been positive.
The role
This role requires you to be proactive, flexible, adaptable, enthusiastic, positive, and patient. Due to the needs of the students, it is essential that you are confident in dealing with challenging behaviour and have experience working with SEN/SEMH, preferably within a school or nursery setting.
The position of Early Years SEMH Teaching Assistant involves providing general classroom support and working closely with staff. Being a team player is important.
