About the Role
We are a leading worktop stone fabricator seeking an Worktop Fitter / Office Manager to lead our installation teams and oversee the logistics that support them. This role is responsible for ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality installations, while also developing people and processes so the business remains resilient, even when key staff are absent. * Field teams have enough time to complete jobs safely and to quality standards.
* Schedules are achievable and realistic, avoiding unnecessary pressure or inefficiency.
* Routes are optimised — pairing nearby jobs to maximise efficiency and reduce wasted travel.
* Step into office logistics roles as an emergency cover, but focus on building robust systems so these tasks can be covered by trained team members when required.
Holiday, Absence & Cover Planning
* Manage holiday and absence schedules across both the fitting and logistics teams, ensuring adequate cover at all times and preventing overlaps that could disrupt operations.
* Ensure multiple team members are cross-trained on standardised logistics tasks, so cover is available without disruption.
* Develop clear processes and training so all logistics tasks are simple, repeatable, and resilient against staff absences.
Team Leadership & Development
* Provide constructive feedback to fitters based on Kaizen data and performance metrics.
* Conduct monthly 1-to-1 meetings with senior fitters (30 minutes each) to review performance, provide coaching, and align on goals.
* Lead by example, inspiring both installation and logistics teams to perform at their best.
* Build a motivated, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
Technical Support & Communication
* Act as the go-to technical expert for fitters, operations staff, and project managers.
* Provide guidance on installation methods, site challenges, and product handling.
* Support the operations team in evaluating complex or bespoke installation requests.
Continuous Improvement
* Champion the use of Kaizen principles to drive efficiency and performance.
* Identify process improvements across installations and logistics, ensuring lessons learned are captured and applied.
* Strive for operational excellence, reducing wasted time and resources while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction.

* Proven experience in stone fabrication, installation management, or a closely related field.
* Strong technical knowledge of stone worktops, installation methods, and site problem-solving.
* Experience managing logistics, scheduling, or operations in a fast-paced environment.
* Leadership ability, with a track record of coaching and motivating teams.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Hands-on, proactive, and confident in making decisive calls under pressure.
